About NMIC...
NMIC, established in 2005 and located in Tucson, AZ, is dedicated to the development and commercialization of products based on nano-materials and nano-processes such as aluminum diamond metal matrix composites (MMCs) for thermal management applications in the electronics industry.
Our Product Development History After achieving significant results in its development efforts, NMIC in 2007, began preparing for commercialization of its materials and small-scale production facilities and analysis equipment were acquired. These products were first announced at the International Conference & Exposition On Advanced Ceramics & Composites in early 2008. Recognition comes quickly... Aluminum Diamond: In 2009, NMIC exhibited its aluminum diamond matrix composite materials at the International Microwave Symposium, where they received considerable attention, as they represented the first commercially-viable products based on aluminum-diamond for replacement of conventional materials as heat spreaders for high-power RF transistors. Based on the ability of diamond to dissipate heat more effectively than any other material on Earth, NMIC has subsequently entered into development programs with major Gallium Nitride (GaN) RF and microwave transistor users to exploit the potential of this breakthrough technology. NMIC’s aluminum diamond commercial products are the first to surmount the hurdles that have hindered its availability for decades. They promise to allow semiconductor and other electronic devices that generate large amounts of heat to more effectively remove it, potentially increasing their operating lifetimes by allowing them to operate at cooler temperatures or higher power levels.
